Looking at the map on the previous page, and noting that advice is given that some "new" (improved service?) areas are beyond the reach of helicopters..... Something is puzzling me:
If the areas are not reachable by helicopters, those areas will either be left without air support altogether (but still pay!), or by implication, be covered by fixed wing aircraft.
What type of fixed wing aircraft are replacing the existing helicopters being removed from service, if any?
Seems to me that it's going to be "open house" for criminals in some more remote areas. No road traffic departments either (I understand that some police forces disbanded theirs some time ago), so only local, non-specialist driver trained ground units remain?
