Speaking of which, we are almost halfway through the first half of the first quarter of this year. Still no signs of any construction work starting which was meant to start this quarter.
The first job will be to remove the 100 year old trees as the dual carriageway and road alterations is part of phase one. Trees can't be cut down in the nesting season.
I see the 14 large trees that sit on the route of the future dual carriageway by the midterm car park have been fenced off. No doubt they are about to get the chop so would mark hopefully the beginning of the airport upgrade.
Also in the terminal there is a small exhibition in the arrivals area that has been there maybe 6 weeks or so about the expansion of the airport. There is a list of possible future routes that I just dismissed but New York which is listed has been announced. So is this a wish list or routes under negotiations?
The full list is as follows:
Oslo
Stockholm
Dubai
Islamabad
New York
Orlando
Cancun
Jeddah
