But some of those derogatory comments are justified which is why Luton comes bottom of the Which passenger survey. That is not going to change anytime soon and will no doubt get worse as numbers increase and building work kicks in.

Time will tell but unlike some of the stupid comments made here that no matter how much money is spent Luton will always be a dump and that Luton should be bulldozed does not add anything to their credibility.

Luton has no choice but to work within the existing CTA. Airports like Birmingham, Stansted and Southend had the space and land to in effect build new airports around existing runways and to abandon old terminals and CTA's

At the moment anyone looking at the frontage of the the terminal will see 4 distinct buildings. There is the original 1960's terminal, the 1980's frontage to the original terminal that once allowed buses to pass through it, the new terminal and the link building that is now the arrivals area and passenger hand luggage security area. The new work will basically add a fifth building in what is now the bus station but it will remove the disjointed appearance of all the other buildings and will look like a natural seamless continuation of the new terminal.

The Spanish owners have a proven history of airport redevelopment and while they have to work with what they have got I am sure their £100,000,000 is going to make a big difference despite what some of detractors hope.
