Except that a bag could have been passed to a domestic passenger in the departure lounge who wouldn't be subject to any controls when the get to their destination.
For this to be realistic would require a very complicated conspiracy involving two suspect passengers and the person who opened the wrong door, presumably other gate staff and/or their supervisors at STN and (just to be sure) others at LIS.
