Basal cell and squamous cell cancers are the long haul pilots curse. The generation now retiring or close to retirement are showing signs of over three times the average sentile for these skin cancers. SPF 50 is recommended for all in the cockpit but who..WHO ever slaps up??..the guys in mid career really do need to start ramping up better awareness so the regulators and the employers can come into line. I understand that Drs JF and RC began to focus in on this but as usual, it either suffocated from above or its controversy became a little too much for the regulator to handle.
