How on earth would a second runway being built in crawley offering flights for the south of London and coastal areas impact majorly on Luton?
I can see the competition with STN for certain routes but Gatwick? If you could elaborate on your reasoning I would appreciate the view.
LGW with a 2nd rwy would have oodles of spare capacity compared to LTN's 80%. Loads of new slots (allocated 50% to incumbents 50% to new entrants) would be available. The ending of the secondary slot market would also be beneficial.
So unless LGW managers do something stupid like hiking charges up over the odds it could well be attaractive to some carriers currently at LTN.
Not to mention by the time it gets done the world would have passed through an ice age and we would probably all have evolved wings of our own.
