25 million passengers per year
Many times I have quoted 25 million passengers per year being the bench mark for Luton to aspire to.
Which takes me back to a previous entry by myself many months ago in which the former airport operator made no reference to a submission in relation to a new satellite building with between 15 and 18 stands to the east of the airfield.
That satellite connected by a tunnel (airport vehicles, passenger travelators) to the central area could be the key to the airports further growth and achieving the 25 million goal. In fact that satellite could be exclusively used by one airline!
In relation to the car park (currently there), the plans showed several multi-storey buildings each accommodating the same amount of cars at today's level.
In effect, any growth at the airport will not necessitate any further acquirement of land.
