BBC News - Aberdeen nominated as most dismal town in Carbuncle awards
Aberdeen has been nominated for the unwanted title of the most dismal town in Scotland.
Urban Realm magazine has said the so-called Granite City is in the running for the infamous annual Plook on the Plinth Carbuncle award, on the grounds Aberdeen is "where architecture goes to die".
Fellow nominees include Cumbernauld and Lochgelly.
The Plook on the Plinth award was established in 2000 to provoke debate.
