...and pray who is going to run a 2-3 week rotation to Dubai? The runway is too short by a good 500m and the apron would need vastly expanding. Only Etihad or Qatar have suitable equipment to get into Dyce in its present form and Dyce is becoming increasingly enchroached on a daily basis. I would imagine there is not enough cargo space to make the route viable, without the right aircraft. I also dont see anyone running a BBJ type service either, pie in the sky IMO.
Remember Azal tried to run to GYD, It failed miserably, all the BP related personnel preferred to route through LHR and maintain their gold cards, rather than risk loosing status on Azal.
If ABZ wants long haul its needs to invest in proper infrastructure, not making a quick £ kill making more OFS office space.
