Both are needed: national airports
and a world-class hub, it's not "either/or". Not all countries can support routes to all the UK national airports, so the world-class hub is needed.
Where routes to multiple UK destinations are possible, obviously, the national airports should do all they can to facilitate this, and the government should do all it can to help.
Arguably, MAN is something in between, and that role is also needed.
I know it helped Kehoe emphasise his point, but nevertheless I respect him for mentioning MAN & NCL. It's a rather different tack than BHX becoming an overflow airport for London but good on him for speaking up.
BTW, isn't GLA as much a national airport as NCL.
Strange in a way because BHX doesn't feed LHR with domestic flights like MAN and NCL.
Indeed, it used to, maybe it should again, who can say.....?
However, it is likely that pigs will be flying before that ever happens again.
