As has been said before STN saw significant decline mainly due to the break up of the BAA monopoly. It will take some years for it to fully recover so it's not really a fair comparison.
As STN was/is faster growing means the gap between LTN and STN is widening. That is fact!
Or you could look at it as the gap between STN and LGW is narrowing. That is also fact!
I think's it's great that all the London airports are growing strongly (regardless of what previous peaks and record may have been) alongside each other and in their own right.
I also don't really see what the issue is regarding TOM at LTN to be quite frank. 3 aircraft, 1 of which is a 757 is a decent sized base and there's been no noticeable reduction in flights if any. Seems to be based on nothing other than wishful thinking from a couple of LTN fanboys.
