it's still a building site that the traveling public have to endure each time they travel through it
Rubbish, there has been no building work to the terminal or the CTA for the last 10 years which is in part why Luton has come bottom in the airport vote

You will have to give a couple of examples of what has taken place that the traveling pubic has had to endure and not make sweeping statements. I can't think of anything apart from tinkering and then that was only shifting the drop off area away from the terminal to comply with the DoT and the exit route which were both minor and were completed in a matter of weeks. Oh and a few retail outlets that have changed hands over the years but that happens at all airports.

You need to look at the first post here http://www.pprune.org/aviation-histo...nostalgia.html but I agree that bigger is not always better but in Luton's case bigger was better.
