Finally, excuse my ignorance, but what's a 1250?
Capers - it is/was the RAF Identity card. (RAF Form 1250) Strictly speaking it's now a "MoD 90" but many of certain years (
moi aussi) still refer to it as a "1250", although mine clearly now says MoD Form 90....
