You need Acrobat itself - currently version 5.0 - the reader only lets you view pdf files.
There are other progs apart from Acrobat, which in itself does not come cheap. As with everything yous gets what yous pay for..so quality of output differs with alternative progs.
If you do not wish to purchase the program Adobe has an online pdf converting facility
here - first five conversion are free...! You may have to pretend you're in the US or Canada though (but you might be there already...).
