Stale food for thought...

I realise it's a pointless discussion now, but in hindsight wouldn't it of made more sense refurbing and reconfiguring the later B763ER's and transferring them across to J*? Several sources are now saying that WestJet are taking 4 x 94-97 build QF B763's for their Hawaiian services (I've heard it's -OGN and O, but other sources at saying it's the 4 International configured ones -OGR thru to U).

WestJet are reported to be extensively refurbishing these aircraft with new interiors, IFE and winglets prior to them entering service.

Air Canada's Rouge is a recent example of a LCC that is still acquiring B763's from its parent, revamping them and using them on long range services.

This would of enable QF to retain their A332's and open up new possibilities with the 788's and/or lease them out to generate revenue.

Also reports the QF CFO has a plan B for Perth and reintroducing Singapore services are back on the table, which will no doubt involve the A330 fleet.
