Years ago, I concluded that "all-in-one" means "something breaks and you have to replace the whole lot". I have a little Canon scanner that works, and a decent laser printer that works.
My last Epson printer ate ink cartridges at a scary rate (not using up the ink, just blocking its nozzles). The laser sits there and "just works".
