This is just the beginning of a well laid out management plan to get rid of the long haul pilot/FA/Engineer awards for good.
This is just rearranging deck chairs on the long haul titanic. There are no aircraft on order, or more precisely, no aircraft will ever be put on the long haul award again.
If you consider that the managers "responsibility" is to lower costs, it is not hard to work out which way they are going with this.
