Beer Baron,

The same could be said for the current Qantas mainline vacancies.

Although, I admit the level of interest in these positions from current JQ pilots (senior enough) to take these positions would probably be non existent.

It does not mean, that QF or JQ should fail to advertise these positions as available per the MOU.

Just because there is a Mainline Pilot surplus is immaterial to the issue.

It works both ways, QF should advertise vacancies available to JQ pilots via the MOU and v/v.

Lets say for example Qantas intended to sell JQ either in full or partially.

Some JQ Pilots may want to transfer to QF via the MOU to the A330 SO or B737 FO positions to maintain employment in the Qantas Group.

Again, I agree the interest levels would probably be non existent, but that doesn't excuse QF from not advertising these positions as available per the MOU.

If there's no takers from JQ where seniority would allow the transfer, then the Ghost Numbers in the QF seniority list are deleted. That's how the MOU was designed to work.
