I have met Qantas Captains that finished high school in grade 10
There is also a current High Court Judge who left school in Year 10 and practice law without a degree.

I am not saying it's right but the times are changing and the world is getting more competitive and pilots are not highly regarded as they once where.
No we are on a brink of a world wide shortage actually.....
