It means the package of salary/leave/professionalism/lifestyle/clean air should be JUST enough to attract and retain staff. And it clearly is by far.
I wonder whether that will be the case in 3-5 years time. As this crap works through and wages are adjusted downward, will Qantas be able to attract good people. There was a time when people would choose Qantas as a S/O in front of TAA or Ansett as a F/O. Will they still make that sort of choice in he future with little promotion (not that I expect J* or VOZ to be promoting very quickly but at least its a window seat) and perhaps significantly less money than now?

(Yes, yes, I get that Qantas actually has to start recruiting again and all that stuff. I'm talking principle here).
