Yes, you nay well get paid more $$ overseas, but what you ignore at your peril is the risk/return profile.

If you get sick- you get sacked. A colleague recently had a transient medical issue that grounded him-sacked. When said problem was fixed, he was unable to get his job back and is unlikely to get any gig in that country ever again because of that (fixed) issue.

When it comes to safety bonus time, you will not get it because the company will scour the FOQA data for such issues as taxiing around a corner at 11 kts when the limit is 10- no bonus.

You are dealing with people who crap on a busy footpath because they are too lazy to find a toilet. It does not get much better than that when you do business with them.

It is not so much about money but the control that a company has over it's workforce. Something that most Australian companies do not have compared with overseas competitors.
