I think the people who live near the Airport have it both ways though. Yes, a lot of works have disrupted their lives and the new car park and dual carriageway are coming to put more cars near to their homes. BUT, they are going to have a 4 platform rail station to serve them, metrolink stops surrounding them, a bus and coach station too. And the dual carriageway will surely help them by easing traffic congestion.
From a public transport point of view, there can't be many places in Greater Manchester as well connected as the Airport is.
