Hi, Airbus Girl.
I can give you an idea of the SH rostering at LGW; we get a minimum of 11 days off per month, and trips vary from one day to five days in length. There is a preferencing system which allows you to bid for what you want and whilst it's by no means perfect, it is better than nothing! (I bid for 3 to 5 day trips and very rarely do anything else). As far as standby is concerned, I average one reserve block (5 days in length) every other month, where basically you are at crewing's beck and call - they can give you home standby, airport standby or trips.
We get 6 weeks leave pa, operated on a points system; popular weeks (Christmas, school holidays, etc) are low points, so when it comes to the next leave bidding period you have less points and have to go for more unpopular leave weeks. One weeks leave (7 days) has 3 wrap days attached giving you 10 days away from work. Two week leave blocks have 4 wrap days.
There are opportunities for part time working depending on the crewing requirements for your particular fleet. Not sure what the situation is for sabbaticals.
Hope this answers your questions.
BB.
