We had a small RAA type on floats with a reversing prop. It took a bit of getting used to but was very handy. Reversing away from the bowser was the most entertaining part, people thought you were stupid when you buckled in whilst facing the wrong way. You have to watch for bumps as or course it will tip back much easier going backwards than it ever could going forwards. This one took 4 seconds from forward to reverse but over 10 seconds to go from reverse to forward (electric); that 10 seconds seemed to take for ever when you wanted to move quickly.
