From a regulatory standpoint - no. But if you do a most of your flying ME then your BFR should also be conducted in the same type.

If you are a casual hirer of twins then the operator may impose for insurance or other reasons, more stringent recency. ie 1 hr in 90 days seems to be an unofficial but generally accepted practice.
