There might be an impact in terms of other traffic underneath your approach. Other traffic may be operating on routes 1000ft beneath the ILS glide slope. Removing that precision vertical guidance might mean that the other traffic cannot be routed beneath you while on a Loc/DME.
They let you London chaps get away with some crazy stuff!
