I was just about to do same-training in Canada(already have picked the school etc.) but had decided to postpone it due this residency/work permit issue as I am from EU as well. I guess if you want fly in EU soon or later, EASA programme you mentioned.
What about South America? Especially if you speak spanish...Does anyone know how it is with Visas "all the way below USA"?
