Some manufacturers attempt to differentiate between the system automaticaly ‘disengaging’ itself due to internal monitoring / safety feature, and the pilot choosing to ‘disconnect’ the system or being required to as part of a procedure.
Or vice versa, or editing differences as above, or just inconsistency.
I can’t locate a ref, but it might have been stated in an SAE standards document.
