The only certificate the FAA will issue based on a foreign license is a private certificate. They would put the A-320 rating on it with the limitation "VFR ONLY." However, since you already hold a FAA commercial certificate, you can't go back and a 61.75 private certificate.
- In order to get my FAA ATPL with A320 on it, do i need to make a full type rating or can i go for the ATP written test once i feel ready for it, then from there go to a simulator and do my check ride + oral exam ? Could it work this way ?
Are you asking if you can skip the ground school and just take the checkride? You'll have to use a Part 142 school for the sim and they'll want you to complete a GS.
Also, be advised that starting 1 August next year, in order to take the ATP written you will have to complete an ATP Training Program which will be 30 classroom and 10 simulator hours.
