What we are doing is on certain London to Europe routes is possibly freeing up a LHR short haul slot for BA to replace with a Long Haul. Which if anything will increase the number of pilots needed. Last time we checked a LH frame requires more pilots than a SH.
BACF E190's do not have the capacity to replace an A319 for example.
