$200 for new cables
How many cables are you talking for $200? That seems very low unless you are talking about cables as part of a pulley system.
I just paid around $240 each for elevator, trim, rudder & aileron cables for a non-certified experimental aircraft so $1,400 is about right for a push-pull cable if that's what you're talking about there ZAZ given that it's certified and imported. It's the labour component that's killing you there.
