Just for interest, do you forbid her to speak for herself in such circumstances, or does she prefer you to speak up on her behalf while she remains suitably self-effacing in the background?
It may well be the case that she wouldn't mind a man giving her a good old frisk; after all, you wouldn't mind a woman giving you a good old frisk.
Would she object on your behalf if a woman gave you a good old frisk?
Of course, if you have to object on her behalf simply because she is actually incapable of speech, or because she has no mind with which to generate an objection or express it, then I apologise unreservedly for suggesting otherwise.
Are you sure it was a male doing the pat-down? You were in Oslo, after all, and the women there can be quite scary.
