) we used a bosun's chair to lift a casualty through trees a couple of weeks ago because a stretcher lift just wasn't possible and the casualty's injuries (ribs and dislocated shoulder) precluded using a double strop lift. Judicious use of hi-lines helped stabilise the winchman and casualty (good as long as you have someone on the ground to assist) during the winching process.
