Vagar is building a large extension.
Just extended the runway, Installed ILS.
And now have two basex A319's. Also they are seeking new carriers.
Ive wanted to visit for a long time. It would be nice if Dsa or Huy did a twice weekly flight there n back same day.
But now in theory , rather than going all the way to stanstead via central london. I could be able to fly to Abz from Huy and onto Vagar.
If they could start codeshares .
The Faroes provide a unique tourist venue and also links to Iceland and smaller airports.
Either way heres hoping they do it.
Id definitely try it.
Question is would Easyjet give it a go?. Im guessing Ryr couldnt as the runway is 1795m long.
Im not sure if a 738 could land or take off there but as an inward tourist route or even competition on the Cph route, And perhaps adding Manchester Or Glasgow or Stanstead or Sen.
Might be interesting times for that airport.
Their new terminal is open in spring.
