I live about 35 miles from HVN airport. There is not much terrain down there and an eye-witness reported the plane came down inverted.
I bet it was a classic stall spin accident. I am NO fan of circling approaches and I am sure he had his hands full.
Many years ago I saw a home movie of turbo commander spinning into a lake right after take-off. I suspect he lost an engine and did not act quickly. I also wonder if that aircraft is a widow maker.
