Hi Ramjet,

Quote: "I'm a foreign student who had plans to commence training in Canada later in September. Your recent post is a red flag and I'm starting to suspect if this is a good year to commence training.

There's an air of pre-2008 financial crash in our world today, and I wonder if the world is heading for a period of destabilization and recession.

Could you let me in on the reasons behind the bad air blowing across Canada?

Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

XXXXX.

If I knew the reason, I'd post it.

I would not take any notice if you are serious about flying for a living. If you like instructing, there are so many who don't want to be instructors that there is always a demand for those who do like it.

Problem is, when conditions drop, the demand drops and you don't get a chance to show what you can do..

I'm aware of numerous instructors making welfare money, less than welfare money and doing a few hundred hours a year, no where near making a living.

Earn money elsewhere, then spend it on training, Canada still provides good value for training.

Still lots of airlines take 200 hour pilots and put em in an Indonesian 737...
or other airlines with similar ideas.
