He was initially sentenced in Nov 12 to 18 months, with good behaviour do half, that means he would have been out quite soon.
If Sgt Nightingale and his gobby wife had just shut the f*ck up, accepted that he had, in fact, broken the law, done his 9 months in Colly where everyone knows who he is and why here's there, he'd be home soon, still in the Army (although admittedly probably not in the SAS), still a Sgt, and could have carried on his career. Everyone's a winner.
Now, hes £120,000 worse off, he still has the same serious conviction on his record, but he's going to have to deal with it in civvy street where it will be much more difficult, because he's now being discharged.
And now nobody is a winner.
Sometimes shutting up and taking it is the best option.
