Virgin pax numbers falling
Virgin Australia have just released their May operating statistics and I quote the following for domestic operations.
May 2012- 1,422,194
May 2013-1,349,527 (-5.1%)
This brings a load factor of 69.3% for the month.
To be fair, the others.
QF Domestic (exc Qlink)- 1,411,000 (+2.9%)
Jetstar- 834,000 (+0.6)
Tiger- 227,000. 85% LF.
Their product has improved greatly and is quite impressive transcontinental, but 70,000 a month and falling, surely this must be hitting the books quite hard. Its not just for the month either, this has been the trend for the last 7/8 months.
