Canada Day
Happy Canada day folks! My day started early this AM sitting on the back patio looking out across the farm and reminiscing about the various places I have spent this day, and its predecessor, Dominium Day, this got me thinking about all of you who have followed and are away from this great land and your loved ones on this day, some by choice to make a living, and some on duty representing Canada in some of the less pleasant parts of the globe, where civil rights and freedoms are in short supply. Ah yes, there are those who will scoff at such sentiments, to those I sugest a visit to one of the many sites where Canadians lie forever in foreign soil, whether you are in the "Sandbox" or one of the booming economies such as Hong Kong, or any of the many ex pat pilot bases its not hard to find these tended plots with their small white markers, which although far from home, are forever part of Canada, so whilst enjoying this proud day, spare a thought for those who lie in these plots, and lets not get into pointless disussions about the rights and wrongs which brought them to these places, they did what they belived to be right at the time, to second gues them after all these years is to defile their memory. Tonight we go to the park with the grandkids to watch the fireworks, I for one will say a silent thanks to "those who went before", Regards, Clunckdriver.
