I know of *one* cadet over 30, he was thirty-one and had spent the previous 10 years working as an aircraft engineer down in SNN(737s etc....).
Whilst the law states they can't discriminate on age the simple fact is they do.
I know this puts a bit of a downer on it but if you're over 30 unless there are some very particular mitigating factors (eg above backround) there isn't a hope you'll be chosen before some of the younger ones.
I've heard this from the horses mouth and see it in action for years.
Direct-entry is a different matter of course...
