Sorry to dash your hopes but...
A new law has come into effect in Ireland in the last year where it is illegal to place an age restriction (except for under 18's) on job advertisments. It is against the Equal Status Act which bans descrimination by age, gender, etc. Chances are that if Aer Lingus, or any other company for that matter, consider you too old they will just make up some other excuse not to offer you the job.
Ryanair were recently fined £5000 for placing an ad which was looking for "young energetic people".
Also, Aer Lingus are in deep **** with major losses expected this year. I have heard that they do not plan to run any Cadet program in the forseeable future.
