Actually, the current system is fine!!! If they would use it correctly.
A 'long term' OT scheme is even worse than the one we have now. They will work some pilots like dogs for a set of months, then force them into leave or less flying so that in the end there is no productivity pay.
Personally, I'd prefer never to fly into OT. I would rather have the time off to try and recover and have a life.
Just allow OT when it is needed in the very few odd times when something occurs with crewing and, at the same time, allow the bid system to function the way it was designed to do.
This road they are moving down is NOT promising.
