I visited Dubai 2 months ago and stayed with ex work colleagues who are all very happy. Although not perfect by any means, I wanted some first hand experience before applying, because I didn't want to make the move only to then spend all my time complaining on this site because of my own naivety.
Yes I was amazed when I landed in the desert to find......sand. OMG what's happened I thought.
A lot of the things complain about have always been the case haven't they. Has the traffic suddenly become mad? Has it suddenly got much hotter 5 months of the year? When did the culture suddenly become Islamic?
Who mentioned big aircraft? Not me, I was impressed with their relative youth.
You remind me a bit of some of the angry Muslims here who are unhappy living in our culture. The cultures not going to change, so just do yourself a favour and move to somewhere that does suit you
