Probably the biggest, recent operator of the BAC 1-11 was a company called European Air Charter which, although it's head quarters was at Bournemouth, had quite a big operation at it's STN base . . . for many an ex-military guy European was the first outfit they cut their civvy airline teeth on as they whizzed around Europe with a basic pair of VORs and NDBs to get them from A to B; we only got a strap-on gps when it became mandatory around '98ish ? Many happy days spent with them.
