Those people weren't at the display. There are other videos on the web showing it from the crowd's perspective. I don't think any could/should criticise the poor guy for his display axis.
The other videos show the aircraft developing a very high rate of descent which becomes apparent that the aircraft isn't going to recover from at about 500ish feet or so.
