I flew in Guyana back in 2005 and had a blast but the above posts are right. The country is very poor and it doesn't provide good living. I don't think it has changed much since 05 but maintenance was never an issue and management was not bad either. It was just the living conditions that got to me after a year. Still have many good friends there and I do agree with flyingswiss, Suriname is nice and enjoyable with great quality of life.
