full story... well almost

PM if more details needed.

Arrive from north in FIR on HF. then to VHF at about 150mn. VOR and DME came in in reasonsable range. Draft full R Nav plates provied, and a tactical approach also. basically over field at FL 100, xwind, downwind and dirty dive to 4 miles, slightly offset, ie over water. Landing 05 take off 23.

Good atc with several other ac on VHF freq. Turkish Airlines on stand, landed, and parked next to 2 UN choppers and fire truck. Pax off loaded, and refuelled ready, so ready to go, as planned two days later. When ac put to bed, bus to terminal, the second bus to SKA compound, 5 mins away, and still on airport security area. Excellent facilities, 40ft containers, with two rooms, inc shower, flushing toilet, Good AC, flat screen tv with sat channels, wifi, fridge microwave, and big bed. (HARD). thin curtains over the windows. but as breakfast 7-8 no major problem.
Rain the previous day so compound muddy.
Catering excellent, reasonable selection and good quality. Bar limited stock, but beer was cold.
On second day I went fishing with the SKA B1900 crew. A nice walk to the beach.
NO roaming mobile service, so must get local sim card. WiFi in camp very good. Skype wins OK.
Stayed 2 nights, not 3 as planned, and total cost exc fuel was less than 2kus$.
Easy departure, to the north weather avoidance required.

Plenty of pics plus copies of the IFR charts available.

Willingly go again.
