partagas,
learn Italian, read local newspapers and than you will not seem a bloody fo**l (or imposter). In yesterday's Messaggero the paper admits that it's still dangerous to fly from italian airports (LIN disaster in mind) because nothing of substance has changed since. In Italy two pilots can still be send on a 17-hour duty. The Swissair shares have been bought because the alternative was to lose it all (the other half) and the management of AEI was given into hands of people who could only manage an aero club type of ops before, the outfit that was the first in Italy to have the operations suspended for unsafe practicies. The result is:from landing at an apt in a wrong country via stranding hundreds of pax by AOGing an A330 by pouring Skydrol into engines to ramming another A330 on the ground (the list is long). The clusters of "good personell dotted around the comp" is just that:few scatered dots of professionals (mainly ex AEI).The affair is:the small, joung fish has eaten an experienced much bigger fish.
Now get another bottle of that wine and forget about reality.
Chears.
P.S.How competitive the Capt,s package is if he only flies 50 hours?Or would you rather join on one stripe pay?
