Despite the short-comings listed above there are lots of positive aspects about Volare. I am a foreigner ,rather on the extremities of the nerve-centre of the company and understanding only some Italian and speaking almost none. However I do have a considerable experience of other companies either through direct experience or through other association, and can say that Volare compares very favourably. I would prefer more money and less work!, but the captains' package is competetive in the industry.
Dotted around the company are plenty of good personel and the operation is certainly better than that of certain UK - managed companies
I could mention.....but won't.Remember also that Italy was one of the countries that kept a good sense of perspective and common sense in aviation following WTC attacks - good security measures without the barmy behaviour seen elsewhere!
Another very positive aspect is the dynamic commercial department. One of the only companies to benefit greatly from the collapse of Swissair,(through priority share buy-back), Volare seems to have thrived ,even through the last two years' difficult trading conditions.
My great interest is in the high quality wines from Piemonte. However ,I'm not going to share this privileged information with you, since you buying my preferred wines may cause the producers to put the prices up, to my detriment!!!
