Everything is really affordable (with the exception of certain suburbs of Dar Es Salaam). Depending on your preference on the variety of local, indian, western or chinese cuisine you can easily have a full lunch or dinner anywhere between 4-10 USD in most places. Including drinks.
Bottom line is: you can get decent deals in Tanzania, the country is beautiful and the people are nice and it's safe. And if you spend over $400 of your net per month it is likely that you suffer from a massive alcohol-related problem
